Dear Sir,  I like to think I have a robust sense of humor, but I as a Ph.D. geologist (and one who will readily agree that the whole ‘global warming/sky is falling’ stuff is full of hyperbole at best), I hope that you do not think that supervolcano eruptions are either a joke or an imaginary threat.  As the article mentions, it appears that the last time one erupted, the human race nearly became extinct You can use genetic drift rates and work backward and see the ‘bottleneck.’
